I was just challenged by my professional coach, Brendalyn King of Bhavana Learning Group to consider a summer of creativity and learning. What does this mean exactly? We can think about learning based on Senge’s Five Disciplines of a Learning Organization or just look at learning as a means to create. In my case, I plan to take up a few hobbies.
My top 5 list is as follows:
1. Playing the ukelele.
2. Launching “JYO: The Journey You Own” as either a blog, thoughts, media, however it occurs most organically.
3. Exercising — for me that means kickboxing, tennis, bollywood dance, hip-hop and ???
4. Writing about what I read in this blog — given how much I read in animal welfare, it would make sense to start sharing this information in some format. This might as well be the start for that and if it transforms over time, so be it.
5. Playing — yes, plain old play. I have three kids and don’t spend nearly enough time playing but I think that could be a wonderful thing to bring back into my life.
So there it is. My summer of creativity and learning begins now!
