Matthew Goetz, DVM, MBA
Dr. Matthew Goetz is a dedicated veterinarian currently serving as the Clinical Relations Lead Veterinarian for the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine. In this role, he manages relationships between veterinary practices and the college, mentors veterinary students, and ensures a positive experience for both students and practitioners.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Goetz worked as the shelter veterinarian for a biopharmaceutical company where he advised animal shelters and large boarding kennels on disease management, covering vaccine protocols, sanitation, disinfection, and disease outbreak response. Additionally, he has significant experience working in animal shelters in the Phoenix area and private practices across North Carolina, South Carolina, and New Mexico.
He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University. This combination of veterinary and business expertise allows him to offer valuable insights to animal shelters, blending veterinary knowledge with business acumen.
Dr. Matthew Goetz is married to Dr. Nellie Goetz, an accomplished veterinarian who teaches veterinary surgery at the University of Arizona and frequently speaks at veterinary conferences. They reside in Tucson, AZ, with several beloved cats that have joined their family over the years.
